Jéremy, marble worker in Pau.

Who are you?

My name is Jeremy, I am 30 years old and I live in the Atlantic Pyrenees.
I work for a marble company that has been passed down from father to son since 1905.

What is your expertise?

I have been a marble decorator for 3 years now.
I mainly make kitchen worktops but also furniture, fireplaces, paving, pool coping, building stones, stairs, sinks. Everything except funerary work.

Do you have any anecdotes about the marble industry?

Most customers think that kitchens are made of marble, but 90% of them are made of granite, a harder and less fragile stone than marble which is easily scratched and stained.

What object gives rhythm to your daily life?

On a daily basis, I use water grinders, hammers, gravers

What do you think would be a must-have item in a man's wardrobe?

For my job, a hat is a must in winter, I work in semi-outdoors, with water, harsh conditions
